Brothers Spencer and Bryant Make High School Tennis Team in Just Eight Months

Let’s congratulate Spencer and Bryant, two brothers who successfully made it onto their high school tennis team in their very first year! Their dedication and rapid progress in just eight months of training is truly remarkable.

Their mother, Amy, first reached out to me through MyTennisLesson.com on September 19th last year. At the time, Spencer had only played pickleball for three months and was eager to transition to tennis. We began with one private lesson per week, starting from the fundamentals—proper grip, basic strokes, and footwork.

Spencer remained committed to his training until the outdoor season ended. His younger brother, Bryant, joined him for a semi-private lesson along the way. As winter approached, they waited for an opportunity to continue indoors, and once space became available, they joined group lessons.

Over the winter, they attended 12 group sessions, with the final four lessons heavily focused on net play and volleys. The two brothers demonstrated strong chemistry, so I had them practice midcourt feeding and volley drills together. With this preparation, they decided to try out for their high school tennis team—and they made it!

What’s even more exciting is that their coach immediately paired them as a doubles team, recognizing their synergy on the court. Their journey from beginners to varsity players in under eight months is nothing short of impressive.

They are also my first pair of male students to reach a varsity team, making this an unforgettable coaching milestone.

🎉 Congratulations to Spencer and Bryant! Wishing them continued success on their tennis journey! 🎾👏
